Minority Rights
I was going to make a comment on http://gimmeapieceourmind.blogspot.com/2008/11/descrimination-or-persecution-and-to.htm but it got to long so here's my two cents worth. To many times have I had this conversation with people. I think it's rude and arrogant of minorities to claim certain rights and privilages for that reason alone. Living in Toronto, we are overrun with nothing but minorites to the point where the word shouldn't exist. I am about as majority at it gets and yet I am more often than not the only white person at my work. That being said I am reminded of a time at work when a manager would leave twice in a shift to "pray" to Allah. This was part of his religion. I asked the boss what would happen if I went of line to pray and was just laughed at like I told a joke. It's sad what our world has come to in regards to peoples rights. Doug said that the squeky wheel gets the grease, but I think this only happens when that wheel is taken seriously.

Thanks for your input Kim. In Toronto we have over 143 different nationalities. We are getting outnumbered. There are many times when I am the only white guy on the bus. I'm not prejudiced, it's just a little culture shock if you're not used to it. Different cultures act and react different than we do because they have a different point of reference. I understand the powers to be are trying accomodate these cultures and help them to feel welcome and fit into our society, but to deny the natives our rights and give them privileges we cannot have is just wrong and just as prejudiced as they claim we have been in the past. I'm going to speak up at my work and in the media if I have to and see if something can change in this area. I beleive in equal rights, so let me as a Christian have the same rights as a Muslim in my own back yard for heavens sake!! Much of what we are seeing however is prophetic and leading up to the final rebellion against God. The enemy can't get at God so he has to get at God's people, being the Jews and the Christians. That's why you are seeing the attacks against us. Look at my next post. It will ecourage you!
